When I was dignosed with cancer in November 2006, my thoughts went to preparing whatever I could to help my family deal with the situation. One thing I wanted to do was to choose my own Spirit Vessel for my ashes.
As an artist, I wanted something that was unique, reflected who I am, and was crafted with the greatest of care and skill. I did not want a mass-produced container that was impersonal and sold in every funeral home or mortuary in the world.
I talked with Liz Bishop about this project, and she agreed to accept the job. I chose Liz because I am aware of her creative abilities, her skills, her sensitvity and her understanding of how important this can be to a person and his or her family. Liz completed the task, and I was pleased to get something that reflected my circle of life, my values and my faith -- just exactly what I wanted. In fact, the work was so well done that we commissioned her to create a Spirit Vessel for my wife is well.
I recommend Liz and her work to anyone wanting a quality Spirit Vessel at a reasonable price. We are all unique human beings. My urn reflects that. Yours can, as well.

I made a custom Spirit Vessel for a family whose father was an architect and painter. The father loved to go fishing, so I incorporated salmon into the design of the half-vase. Since he was an artist, he also liked odd number-items in his paintings, so I carved an odd number into the vase.
The family gave me some information about their father/grandfather and allowed my artistic expression to develop the urn's design. Since the family wanted to divide up the ashes, I made one large half-vase urn and three smaller ones.
His paintings hung on the wall to celebrate his life, and the large vase was hung right beside this collection to celebrate his presence and his memory.
